(LINTON) - A Linton man is facing preliminary charges of strangulation, battery resulting in bodily injury and disorderly conduct after he injured a woman during a domestic fight Sunday.
Officers were called to a home after receiving a 911 call from a woman saying 53-year-old Tony Petersen had grabbed her by the throat and stuck her in the face.
When police arrived at the home the woman and a young child met them near the driveway. Police say the woman was crying and had swelling over her right eye.
She told police she had been arguing with Petersen for most of the day and that Petersen had been drinking whiskey.
The woman told police she had went to get her belongings and that Petersen allegedly pushed her causing her to fall down the stairs. When the woman called for her child so they could leave, Petersen allegedly pushed her against the wall, choked her and hit her. She then went took the child outside and called police.
Petersen denied hitting the woman or causing any of her injuries.
