(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested 35-year-old Lan Matthews after he was captured on video surveillance footage picking a lock on a safe and taking a woman’s medication.
According to Bloomington police, the woman who was suspicious that someone was stealing her mother's medication from her mother's room at Monroe House installed a camera in her mother's room.
That camera captured images of a nurse in the room rummaging through her mother's draws and picking a lock on a safe and taking out prescription pills.
Bloomington Police interviewed Matthews, who admitted being in 91-year-old woman's room, but denied taking the pills even after being shown the surveillance footage.
Matthews, of Bloomington, was arrested and is facing a preliminary misdemeanor charge of theft.
