(BEDFORD) - Two people were hurt after their vehicles collided on U.S. 50 East Friday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County police report, 75-year-old Sylvia Curtis of Brownstown was driving west on U.S. 50 East in a 1991 Plymouth Voyager when she crossed the center line and collided with an SUV driven by 42-year-old Robert Moser of Heltonville.
Moser told police he was traveling east on U.S. 50 and was following an red sport utility vehicle and was nearing the intersection of U.S. 50 East and Boyd Lane when the red SUV turned left and went across the westbound lane in front of Curtis' vehicle.
Police say Curtis braked to avoid a collision which caused her vehicle to go into a skid and cross the center line, colliding with Moser's Ford.
Witnesses told police the red SUV pulled into the Star Stop convenience store parking lot then fled the scene.
Curtis suffered chest pain and was taken by a Seals ambulance to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Moser, who suffered pain to his head, knees and chest, was checked by an ambulance crew at the scene and told officials he would seek medical attention later.
