(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after she took items from JC Penney Tuesday morning.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the store after an employee noticed 33-year-old Talia Blake and a male enter the store with empty shopping sacks, but then left with the sacks full of items.
Officers located Blake and the male walking behind Dunham's and stopped them.
But when Blake noticed the officers, she tossed the bag in the weeds that contained a t-shirt and two pairs of shoes.
"One officer went to retrieve the bag while another talked to Blake and the male," Parsley says. "Ms. Blake gave police a false name. She finally admitted who she was and that she had taken the items."
Blake was arrested on a charge of theft and the male was released.
