(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Community Public Library patrons can now access magazines through OverDrive.
They will need to download the free Nook app or use a supported Nook device.
Art
The library will be hosting its final National Gallery of Art series program Thursday. This program uses materials from the National Gallery of Art along with creative activities to make art come alive for students ages 6 to 18 years.
Initially designed with homeschool children in mind, these programs will enrich the mind of any student and create a richer learning experience. Art education has many developmental benefits such as improving motor skills, language development, decision making, visual learning, attentiveness, cultural awareness and improved academic performance.
Cubism
In the final program, Cubism will be studied, including famous works by Pablo Picasso. Register by calling the library at (812) 849-2412 or online at www.mitchell.lib.in.us/kids. Classes are available 5-6 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. Participants should specify which class they would like to be placed in when registering.
The library is still at its temporary home on West Main Street.
