(BEDFORD) - The City of Bedford is taking steps to replace an aging 12-inch water main under 16th Street.
According to Bedford City Director of Utilities Misty Adams the new water main, which is estimated to cost $2.5 million, will installed along 16th Street near Pizza Hut, west to Plaza Drive.
The city received two proposals from Layne and Infastructure Systems Inc., both of Orleans. The proposals will be opened Feb. 17.
A bond anticipation note for $5.5 million was sold to pay for this project and other waterworks projects.
