(WILLIAMS) - Lawrence County Police detectives are investigating a burglary at the White River Bait & Tackle store in Williams.
Officers were notified about the burglary just after midnight.
According to Sheriff Mike Branham, a witness, who lives near the bait store, heard a loud vehicle pass his residence and looked outside.
That is when they saw an older pickup with one headlight sitting at the "old Williams school" on Ridge Road.
The witness told police he then saw a man wearing "thick, heavy" clothing, a hat, denim jeans and a "Carhartt" style jacket walk down the hill to the bait shop, and then saw him leave the bait shop a short time later and walk back to his truck.
"The truck was last seen traveling west on State Road 450 toward Martin County," Branham added.
The witness, who was concerned, contacted the store owner Christopher Amstutz, and told him what he saw.
Amstutz went to the business and discovered the burglary and contacted the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
"Officers from Lawrence and Martin County Sheriff's Departments checked the area of State Road 450 near the Lawrence/Martin County line, but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the given description," Branham says.
Branham says the man forced open the front door of the business.
The store's security system video captured images of the older light-colored Chevrolet or General Motor pickup truck - which had one working headlight, pass the store.
The video also captured images of the man forcing his way into the store.
"The male is in and out of the business in less than two minutes, stealing items from the business," Branham added.

Branham asks residents that witness possible criminal or suspicious activity to contact police immediately.
