(BLOOMINGTON) - A Gosport man has been arrested in connection to a rash of burglaries in Bloomington.
Police were called the Burger King parking lot on South Walnut Street on Tuesday after a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.
When police arrived they found 28-year-old David Davis in a tan Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Bloomington Police Capt. Joseph Quarters say the vehicle fit the description of a vehicle that was caught on video surveillance from several previous burglaries.
Police are investigating the December 17 burglary of Great Taste Buffet. The business was also hit on December 29 and January 11. Other businesses broke into were Nail Studio and Cirilla's on January 25 and the January 26 burglaries of Euro Deli, Big League Haircuts and Crimson Nail & Spa.
Officers determined that Davis was not the owner of the vehicle and when asked who the owner was, Davis replied he didn't know. Officers attempted to contact the registered owners, but were unsuccessful so the vehicle was impounded.
But before impounding the vehicle, officers found a crack pipe inside the Blazer. Davis was then charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Bloomington Police Department for questioning.
During an interview with detectives Davis admitted to being involved in 8 burglaries in the Bloomington area.
