(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police stopped him for a traffic violation and found drugs and a handgun.
Police stopped 23-year-old Willis North-Lucas on Saturday night after he was found speeding on Walnut Street and then failed to signal when making a turn at the intersection of South Walnut and West Grimes Lane.
Officers discovered that North-Lucas was driving on a suspended driver's license.
North-Lucas told police there was a small amount of marijuana in the Chevrolet Cavalier he was driving and a .45-caliber handgun under the passenger's side floorboard. He also had a marijuana pipe in his pocket.
North-Lucas was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended driver's license, owning a handgun without a permit and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
