(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after he asked his neighbors to turn down the music Sunday morning.
Bloomington officers were called to an apartment in the 3100 block of East Stratum Way, just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
According to police, 21-year-old Yeyi Ma asked the residents to turn down the music and that is when one of the residents cussed at him.
Ma then forced his way into the apartment went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife and was waving it in the air and then placed it against his own throat.
A man and woman attempted to calm Ma, but he became combative with both the male and female hitting the female in the face and punched and kicked the man.
Ma then sat in front of the apartment door and refused to leave. Those at the party pushed Ma out the door.
When police arrived they arrested Ma on charges of residential entry, intimidation with a deadly weapon and battery.
When asked why he pulled the knife and became combative he told police those attending the party had cursed at him.
