(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man was arrested after an alleged sexual assault Tuesday morning.
Daviess County deputies arrested 45-year-old Timothy Strahle on charges of sexual battery with a deadly weapon, escape, criminal confinement, battery, possession of a firearm by a violent felon, pointing a firearm, resisting arrest, impersonating a public servant and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to police, officers were called to the Oakwood Trailer Court around 2 a.m.
A woman told police she was asleep when a man dressed in black came into her bedroom with a gun. The man claimed to be a police officer and had been watching her and knew she had been involved in illegal activity. He told her if she agreed to have sex with him he would not arrest her.
The man began to sexually assault the woman and when she asked if he was going to rape her, he released her and she was able to flee the home.
Officers arrived and found that Strahle lived in the same trailer court and the victim was able to identify Strahle.
Officers arrested Strahle and during a search of his body, found meth paraphernalia and a handgun.
While taking Strahle to the police car, he fled and was caught after a short foot pursuit.
