(BEDFORD) - An Oolitic woman was injured after the vehicle she was riding in slid off the roadway and down an embankment.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 59-year-old Barry Jewell was traveling west on U.S. 50 East near April Sounds Addition Road when he fell asleep while driving.
His 1996 Chevrolet truck slid off the south side of the road and went down the embankment.
Jewell was not hurt, but his passenger 36-year-old Patricia Wellman of Oolitic complained of back pain following the incident.
Assisting at the scene was a IU Health ambulance crew and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department.
