(BEDFORD) - 41st Annual Lawrence County Spelling Bee canceled because of a winter storm on Wednesday has been rescheduled for Monday.
Ben Wray, a 4th grader at Fayetteville Elementary and the Elementary Champion will compete against middle school champions for the overall title.
Competing middle schoolers are:
1340 AM WBIW is hosting the event which will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Shafer Auditorium. The public is invited to the free event to support their favorite contestant.
If you can't attend the event, it will be broadcast on 1340 WBIW both days at 6:30p.m. It will also be streaming online here at wbiw.com
All participants will receive a 1340 AM WBIW Spelling Bee t-shirt and a certificate. The top three will also receive a bee bobble-head trophy. The overall Spelling Bee champion will receive a $100 cash prize provided by Bedford Federal Savings Bank and a pizza party, provided by Marcos Pizza, for their homeroom.
The champion of Monday's competition will advance to the 2015 Ford Motor Company Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 21 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
The Spelling Bee Champion of 2014 was Jathan Howe, from Shawswick Middle School.
