(UNDATED) - Hoosier Uplands Head Start is accepting applications for the 2015-16 school year for the Bedford, Loogootee, Mitchell, Paoli and Salem centers.
To be eligible for Head Start, the child must turn three or four years of age by August, 1, 2015. The family must also meet the federal income guidelines.
Head Start's half-day comprehensive school readiness program offers nutritious meals and snacks, educational opportunities and assistance with securing medical, dental and vision services and limited transportation to and from the Head Start center.
In addition,full-day classes are available at the Bedford and Loogootee Centers to accommodate parents who are working, enrolled in college or GED classes.
All Head State services are provided at no cost to those who qualify although families are asked to volunteer each month.
The number of enrollment slots are limited.
