(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop Friday night.
25-year-old Christie M. Arwine of Bloomington was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, dealing in marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to a Bloomington Police Department arrest report, Officer Benjamin Burns stopped Arwine's Dodge Dakota at the intersection of West Tapp Road and South Adams Street after seeing the driver had not turned on their headlights.
When the officer approached the driver's side door, he smelled the odor of marijuana. The officer also learned the vehicle had a fictitious license plates.
During a search of the vehicle the officer found the marijuana in Arwine's makeup bag.
Her 14-year-old cousin who was also in the vehicle and been smoking marijuana with Arwine. Her infant daughter was also in the vehicle.
Arwine told police there was a baggie of marijuana in her underwear that she intended to deliver to a friend. Which was removed at the Monroe County Jail buy a female jail officer.
The Department of Child Services was contacted and the teen and infant were released to Arwine's mother.
Her bond set at $2,000 surety, $500 cash.
