(SALEM) - East Washington Elementary will have kindergarten registration on Friday, April 10.
A child must be 5 years of age on or before Aug. 1, 2015, to enroll in kindergarten. Parents must bring a birth certificate for each child enrolling. Immunization records are required in the fall.
Students who do not reside within the school district may still enroll at East Washington.
Registration will be in the elementary gym from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:00 p.m. Please allow an hour for registration and testing. The school nurse will be present to provide information and forms for physical exams and immunization requirements. A short developmental screening, speech screening and vision test will be administered during registration.
Representatives from Head Start, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will be available to talk with parents as well. Parents will receive a packet with tips on helping their child to succeed in kindergarten!
Parents who are interested in early entrance for kindergarten will need to present a written request to Shari Dalton at the school by May 1. This will allow for the child to be tested in order to determine eligibility. Students must be 5 by Aug. 31, 2015, to be evaluated for early entrance.
If you have any questions, please call Shari Dalton, Title One director, at 967-2929.
