(BEDFORD) - It only took an hour after her photo was posted on the Bedford’s Police Department Facebook page featuring their “Wanted Wednesday” to land a Bedford woman in jail.
Police posted 25-year-old Chelsie Barnett's photo on Facebook because she was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says the department uses Facebook in an attempt to locate people wanted on warrants.
"In the past two weeks , three people have been arrested with in an hour after featuring them in our "Wanted Wednesday," Parsley says.
After receiving a tip on Barnett's location, officers arrested her at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital medical offices.
"We are not sure why she was there and she was arrested without incident," Parsley says. "Officers also found she was in possession with a spoon that had heroin residue and a smoking device with marijuana residue on it, marijuana and heroin."
Barnett was taken to the Lawrence County Security Center without incident at 3:44 p.m. on charges of possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and on a warrant for failure to appear in court.
She remained in jail this morning with no bond set because she was out on bond at the time of the arrest.
