(BLOOMINGTON) - Spots are still open for a free turkey hunting workshop in Bloomington beginning Monday, March 23.
Department of Natural Resources' Hunt, Fish, Eat program is geared toward new hunters ages 18 and older. The program focuses on laws and regulations, firearms and safety, locating a hunting spot, and preparing your harvest for the table.
Each session includes an opportunity to sample wild game recipes from instructors and examine a variety of hunting gear and resources.
Participants will improve their self-reliance skills and learn to harvest a delicious source of fresh, local meat.
The program is a three-session series. Sessions are Monday, March 23, and Monday, March 30, in the evening; and Saturday morning, April 4.
Participants should attend all sessions. All equipment is provided. A hunting license is not needed.
