18-month-old K9 Shpila and her handler trooper Daniel Smith are on the job.

She is one of three other bomb sniffing dog's south of Indianapolis, and Smith says her job is necessary for the success of the team as a whole.

"It's important for everybody to see the capabilities and what we can do," says Smith. "Our job is to find something that could potentially harm or kill somebody that in essence is what our job is and if she finds something and saves somebody's life or someone from getting hurt then she has done her job."

Trooper Smith says Shpila will be at a variety of different sporting events, including IU basketball games.
