(ORLEANS) - The Town of Orleans has announced plans for a Town Wide Spring Clean Sweep effort for April 6-11 to aid residents in cleaning up, fixing up, sprucing up, and painting up their properties for spring and the upcoming summer months.
The Orleans Chamber of Commerce and Orleans Dogwood Festival Committee are also joining town officials in this special effort and are urging all residents and business owners alike to pitch in and to do their part to help spruce up our Hometown.
Organizers are also hoping local service organizations as well as groups like student volunteers, scouts, church youth groups etc., will participate in the clean up effort as well by volunteering to pick up trash or perhaps adopting an area in town that could use some beautification efforts.
Town officials will be notifying owners of unkempt or rundown properties to clean up and address those needed areas around the community as well.
A large dumpster will be set up at the town garage during that week for residents to place junk and other items of discard. Some restrictions will apply. Orleans Town Crew will also be picking up large items of discard, limbs, small amounts of brush etc. during this time. These items should be placed curbside for pickup.
