(SEYMOUR) - The search for a man suspected of starting a fire while cooking meth in September at his Seymour apartment came to an end this week after his arrest nearly 900 miles away.
45-year-old Oran Eugene Hughes of Seymour was discovered in Bryan County, Oklahoma, following Internet and database searches by investigators, Seymour Detective Brian Moore said Friday morning.
Police believe Hughes spilled chemicals while making meth September 20 at his apartment at Windhorst Court in Seymour.
That spill led to a fire that damaged his furniture. No one was injured in the fire.
