(BLOOMFIELD) - The Bloomfield School District Board of School Trustees approved two possible dates for graduation in 2016.
The Greene County Daily World reports that by a unanimous vote, the panel approved to move the start time of commencement exercises to 10:30 a.m. The date, which will be chosen at later time, will be either Saturday, May 21 or Saturday, May 28.
The staff of Bloomfield High school requested the board move graduation to Friday night, but following a survey of the Class of 2016, the board agreed with Superintendent Dan Sichting's recommendation of the earlier starting time on Saturday.
In the past, to avoid conflicts between all of the school graduation ceremonies in the county, Bloomfield had been the last school to conduct commencement. Now, they will be one of the first.
