(GOOSE POND FWA) - Construction has started at Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area on a visitors center and a DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife southwest regional office.
Crews are currently clearing and leveling land for the nearly 7,000 square-foot building.
The building will be located on the highest point on the property, offering unique views for the more than 12,000 wildlife watchers who visit the area each year.
The windows will be made from materials that reduce bird collisions and the building will be built with energy efficient materials. Landscaping around the building will use native bird-friendly prairie grasses that blend with the property.
The project is set to be complete by late fall or early winter.
