(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Fire Department, Bedford Police and the street department were called to 15th and L Street just after 3 p.m. Monday because of oil on the roadway.
Firefighter say the spill, which was cooking oil, went from 5th and L streets west to M street up to 16th Street.
Police closed the roads while firefighters and the street department delivered and spread sand on the roadway to soak up the oil.
The street was shut down for a while to allow the oil to dry up.
