(BROWNSTOWN) - Jackson County police arrested a motorist and four of her passengers after finding drugs.
The officer stopped 22-year-old Lyndsie Millman of Brownstown after she failed to stop her 2007 Chevrolet minivan in the 700 block of North Base Road for a stop sign Monday at 6:45 p.m.
That traffic stop led to a search of the van.
Millman and her passengers; 21-year-old Dustin Staggs, 26-year-old Ryan Self and 25-year-old Shawna Smith, all of Seymour, and 26-year-old Jordan Fee of Brownstown; were arrested on charges of possession of heroin after the drug was found in the minivan and on Millman and Smith during body searches at the jail.
Each also faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found drug-related items, including a soda can cut at the bottom, which could be used to fill the van full of smoke so it could be inhaled by the occupants.
Fee faces an additional charge of maintaining a common nuisance, while the other four face a charge of visiting a common nuisance.
Both Smith and Self also face a charge of illegal possession of a syringe.
Self also had an active arrest warrant from Jennings Circuit Court for two counts of felony burglary and two counts of felony theft.
All five were taken to the county jail in Brownstown where they being held without bond until their initial court appearances.
