(BEDFORD) - Julie Hewetson has resigned from the Bedford City Council.
Her resignation was effective March 31.
Hewetson, who represents District 5, resigned because of a recent move to a new home and the home is not located within the city limits.
Lawrence County Republican Party Chairman Patty Ford says Republicans leaders of the precincts within District 5 will gather today at 5:30 p.m. in the shopping plaza at the northeast corner of 16th and L streets to replace Hewetson on the council.
