(DAVIESS CO.) - An afternoon traffic stop put a suspected drunk driver behind bars and took drugs off the street.
At 1:08 p.m., indiana State Police Senior Trooper Jarrod Lents saw a black 1999 Pontiac Grand Am traveling speeding on County Road 900 East, north of County Road 200 North.
After stopping the vehicle and speaking to the driver, 29-year-old Nathan M. Williams of Loogootee, the trooper discovered that Williams was drunk. The trooper also found Williams in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Police say Williams had a blood-alcohol content of 11 percent. He was arrested and taken to the Daviess County Jail on felony charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction and possession of meth and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
