Salem Police Looking For Driver Of Red Dodge Dakota

(SALEM) - Salem Police are searching for the driver of a red Dodge Dakota that struck a parked vehicle at Salem schools last Thursday night and fled the scene.

Police say the truck struck the Pontiac Vibe so hard the car parked on Harrison Street was pushed it over the sidewalk and into the grass in front of the superintendent's office. No one was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. Police estimate damages to the Vibe at an estimated $5,000 to $10,000.

A witness told police the truck was traveling southbound on North Harrison Street at 8:15 p.m. when the truck struck the Vibe head-on. After impact the driver of the truck turned onto Bristol Street and fleeing the scene.

Witnesses told police the red Dodge Dakota had white stripes down the sides of the vehicle.
