(BLOOMINGTON) - At approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, two armed men entered The People’s State Bank at 5:25 South Clarizz Boulevard and stolen an undisclosed amount of money.
Several Bloomington Police Department officers responded and set up a perimeter in the area. Indiana State Police K-9, the Indiana University Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office assisted with searching the area for the suspects who were not located.
Bank employees told police that two black males had entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money.
According to a press release by Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualters, one of the men jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawers.
Police say there were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery and none of the employees were injured.
After getting the money the men fled on foot heading northbound along Clarizz Boulevard and then went back to the east into the wooded area between Clarizz Boulevard and Pleasant Ridge Road.
Both men are believed to be in their late-20s to mid-30s. One was wearing a red bucket-style hat, white long-sleeved shirt and a black wig that was approximately waist-length. The other man was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, a black baseball cap and also had a waist-length black wig.
Some clothing and other items believed to be worn by the men was located in a nearby wooded area and was collected as evidence.
