(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department announced that applications are available for its 2015 Citizens’ Academy program. Citizens’ Academy provides participants with an interactive learning experience about municipal government services, programs and responsibilities.
City residents who are interested in civic participation or increasing their knowledge about local government operation can apply or the Citizens' Academy online at the City of Bloomington's website at bloomington.in.gov/citizensacademy. The deadline for the 2015 Citizens' Academy session is Monday, July 13.
The 2015 Citizens' Academy will meet every Thursday, 6 till 8 p.m., from September 3 through October 29. This session will be limited to a total of 30 participants to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
Virginia Hall, a graduate of the 2014 class, shared this about her experience, "Don't wait to take this class. You will receive hands-on experience in the complex workings of the City. Dedicated professionals are doing their best to make Bloomington a vital and creative community that is committed to responding to its citizens. I give Citizens' Academy a thumbs up!"
