(CORDRY SWEETWATER) - A Brown County Sheriff’s Department reserve officer arrested a man on drug charges Wednesday after seeing a vehicle pulled over with a beer can on the roof.
The officer was on patrol on Sweetwater Drive when he noticed a vehicle, occupied by several people, on the south side of the road with its parking lights on. Green stopped and spoke with the occupants.
The driver, Spencer Lay, leaned over and attempted to push a clear plastic container with a red lid under the seat.
Inside the container was a baggie of marijuana and a smoking pipe.
When asked if there were other drugs in the vehicle, Lay said yes.
Police found a small vial of cocaine in the center console.
Lay was booked in on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
