(BEDFORD) - Volunteers from the Hoosier Backcountry Horsemen will be at Brooks Cabin on Sunday, May 10, from 10 am to 4 pm providing demonstrations of Dutch oven cooking.
Brooks Cabin is just off SR 446 on Tower Ridge Road, at the entrance to the Charles C. Deam Wilderness.
The demonstrations will be throughout the day and samples will be provided in the afternoon.
The volunteers also discuss the leave no trace program for visitors to the wilderness.
Spring is a beautiful time to visit the Hoosier National Forest. Stop at the cabin and learn more about outdoor cooking and leave no trace.
Later in the summer additional dates will be scheduled when volunteers will be available for demonstrations and programs. For more information call the Hoosier National Forest office at (812) 275-5987.
