(ENGLISH) - A person of interest has been detained after a shooting Wednesday morning leaves an English resident with minor injuries.
Around 1:11 a.m. the Crawford County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call reported 43-year-old Robert Yockey of English had been shot in the stomach.
Police say Yockey was sitting in the living room visiting with a friend at a home in the 700 block of East Fifth Street in English when he heard a knock at the front door. Yockey told the visitor to come in, at which point the door opened and a round was fired from a handgun at Yockey.
Yockey told police he did not see who the shooter was.
Yockey was taken to IU Health Hospital in Paoli where he is listed in good condition.
Police have identified a person of interest in the shooting after Crawford County Sheriff deputies made an arrest Wednesday morning during a separate crime. Police are not releasing the name of the person until charges are filed.
Police continue to actively follow up on leads and information and additional information will be released once it is made available.
