(BLOOMINGTON) - A large fire at Go Express Travel in the 3200 block of Venture Boulevard in Bloomington destroyed several pieces of equipment this morning.
A company spokeswoman says an electrical short in one of the buses sparked the fire which quickly spread.
The fire roared from bus to bus, destroying a row of five shuttle buses just before midnight when the Bloomington Township Fire Department received calls of a possible explosion.
Large flames and smoke coupled with concerns about burning fuel meant neighboring departments also rushed to the business.
A hydrant right in front of the building helped to get the fire under control, but crews had to use more than that.
"The amount of fuel that was on fire, the foam is helping us get the fire out a lot quicker. The explosions we believe at this time were the tires on the buses releasing air; anything else right now is under investigation," said Capt. Jeff Bailey with the Bloomington Township Fire Department.
Damage is limited to just the vehicles.
No buildings caught fire and no one suffered any injuries.
Go Express Travel offers rides to and from the Indianapolis International Airport, to downtown Indianapolis, and to Bloomington.
A spokesperson says they have 65 vehicles and Wednesday morning's fire will not impact any trips.
