(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana sophomore basketball player Devin Davis has been suspended from all team activities after being cited for marijuana possession.
Coach Tom Crean made the announcement today.
Crean says additional action could be taken against Davis after a review. Crean also says junior Hanner Mosquera-Perea was present at the time but was not charged by the Indiana University police department. Crean says the school will also review what role Mosquera-Perea played in the incident.
Davis missed all of last season after sustaining a serious brain injury when freshman Emmitt Holt hit him with a car. Police later determined that Davis had jumped in front of the car and noted that both underage players had been consuming alcohol.
