(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was killed Friday afternoon after his zero-turn lawn mower flipped on a hillside and pinned him underneath.
According to Sheriff Mike Branham, the department received a 911 call just after Noon about the accident in the 200 block of Lower Leesville Road.
First responders from Shawswick and Guthrie Volunteer Fire Departments, an IU Health Hospital ambulance and police rushed to the scene.
When they arrived they found 72-year-old Donnie Brown man pinned underneath the overturned lawn mower. The man had been mowing a hillside when the mower flipped and trapped him underneath.
"An officer and firefighter lifted the mower off the man," Branham says. "Coroner Rob Herr was called and he pronounced him dead at the scene."
