(BEDFORD) - The Bedford City TASC bus will now provide more door-to-door service.
TASC Director Melanie Hacker says new digital software and tablets used by drivers will make the door-to-door service easier and more efficient.
Those wanting a ride just need to schedule a pickup by calling (812) 275-1633.
Hacker says scheduling pickups in advance will help eliminate riders from having to transfer from one bus to another.
Currently one bus covers the north side of the city with a another covering the south side. Those needing to get from one side of the city to another, transfer buses will be available at the bus stop on 16th Street in front of Chase Bank.
By June 1, Hacker hopes to eliminate that stop.
A new stop is planned for those that wish to visit the Milwaukee Depot. That stop will be developed after the Depot is moved to its new location at 14th and J streets.
