(BEDFORD) - A Williams man was arrested Friday night after police found meth and marijuana in his vehicle.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, officers stopped 27-year-old Justin Kenney after they noticed the expiration date on his license plate was partially covered and unreadable.
"When police ran the plate, it came back to a different vehicle than what it was currently on," Branham wrote in an email. "So the officer conducted a traffic stop."
A Bedford Police officer and his K-9 partner responded to the scene and the dog alerted officers to possible drugs inside the vehicle.
Officers found a glass pipe and a plastic bag that both contained a green-leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana. They also found a loaded syringe that tested positive for meth.
Kenney was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana less than 30 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
