(WORTHINGTON) - A Worthington man was arrested after an Indiana State Trooper Richard Klun attempted to stop a Trans Am for speeding and the driver took off at a high-rate of speed.
The driver soon lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway striking a utility pole near the Intersection at State Road 157 at Baseline Road.
25-year-old Chad Phillips suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.
K-9 Loki alerted police to drugs in the vehicle officers found a schedule II controlled substance and after his arrests Phillips attempted to hide other narcotics in the passenger door of Trooper Klun's car.
Phillips was arrested and taken to the Greene County Jail on charges of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, driving while driver's license suspended with a prior conviction, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana
Phillips is being held without bond.
Trooper Klun and K9 Loki were assisted by Master Trooper John Yung, Senior Trooper Byron Goodman, Trooper Zachary Parker, Greene County Sheriff Mike Hasler and the Greene County Ambulance Service.
