(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested Friday night after he assaulted a 20-year-old woman.
Bloomington police were called to the 100 block of South Pete Ellis Drive, at 10:35 p.m. after the woman reported she had been assaulted during a domestic fight in front of her 2 year-old daughter.
During a verbal argument, 22- year-old Martez Bess reportedly grabbed the female's arm, shoved her to the ground, choked her and left marks on her face when he bit her.
Police say Bess allegedly threw items throughout the apartment and at one point punched and broke a window.
When police arrived at the home, Bess was gone. Officers found him behind an East Third Street businesses and arrested him on charges of strangulation, domestic battery and misdemeanor battery.
