(NASHVILLE) - A Bloomington man was flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on State Road 46 Wednesday afternoon.
According to an Indiana State Police report, just before 4 pm. officers were called to State Road 46 near Summers Place Trail.
According to troopers, Jason Carter of Bloomington was traveling eastbound in a 2011 Subaru and waiting to turn left into a driver. At the same time a 2005 Ford passenger car driven by Zachary Byer of Loretto, KY was approaching the Subaru, also heading east on State Road 46 at a high rate of speed.
For unknown reasons, Byer's Ford struck the Subaru in a rear end collision.
Carter had to be extricated from his vehicle and was flown to Methodist Hospital via IU Health Lifeline Helicopter.
Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Griggs investigated the crash and was assisted by the Brown County Sheriff's Department, Nashville Fire Department, Nashville Police Department, Columbus Regional Hospital Ambulance and the Lifeline Helicopter (IU Health).
