Child Molesting Charges Dismissed Against Timothy Poore

Last updated on Thursday, June 25, 2015

(SEYMOUR) - Three Class A felony charges of child molesting against a 41-year-old Jackson County man have been dismissed.

Timothy Ray Poore of Seymour was arrested in December and was charged with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl. Those charges stemmed from a complaint filed by a woman last August. That woman told police Poore had sexually assaulted the children between May 2009 and December 2013.

Poore had been scheduled to stand trial June 16 in Jackson Circuit Court, but the jury trial was canceled after Jackson Circuit Judge Richard W. Poynter approved the state's request to dismiss the charges.
