(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will address use of rumble strips as a safety improvement measure this Thursday at a public information meeting at INDOT Seymour District offices.
INDOT's 185 Arco Lane address is just north of U.S. Highway 50 and less than a mile west of Interstate 65.
At 6 p.m., there will be a formal presentation focusing why the state is installing corrugated centerline striping and edge striping. Following the presentations, INDOT officials will take questions and hear concerns from those in attendance.
The Federal Highway administration recommends rumble strips on centerlines or at the edge or shoulder of undivided rural highways with posted speeds of 50 mph or more.
To date, rumble stripes have been installed at these following locations over the past two years:
