(BEDFORD) - A Bloomington man was arrested on a warrant Monday after he allegedly struck his pregnant girlfriend with a car.
23-year-old Keith Leighton is facing a felony charge of battery resulting in bodily injury to a pregnant woman.
The probable cause affidavit reads that on May 1, the day of the incident, the woman told Lawrence County police that Leighton was upset with her because she was breaking up with him. She told police that Leighton tried to blow up the motor on the car by holding down the gas pedal. He then put the car into reverse, and the car dragged the woman to the ground and ran over her. She suffered a scrape on her left arm, scrapes to her knees and pain throughout her body.
The affidavit does not state where the incident happened.
