(DUBOIS CO.) - The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a short chase that began just after 2 a.m. Sunday.
The sheriff's office says deputies and a state trooper saw a car speeding, while they working another incident at the intersection of Main and 4th streets.
Deputies say when they tried to make contact with the driver he sped off and almost hit a deputy. That's when the chase began.
The sheriff's office says one deputy's car ran off the road and hit a tree during the chase.
Deputies say the suspect, 19-year-old Clayton Kern, was arrested later at his house and had a blood alcohol content twice the legal limit. He's facing several charges.
