(ORLEANS) - A Greensburg man was injured Friday afternoon after he crashed his trash truck into a barn in Orange County.
According to an Indiana State Police report, 42-year-old Marty A. Wells was trapped inside of his truck and had to be freed from the wreckage.
Wells suffered injuries to his face and extremities and was taken by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital.
According to troopers, Wells was traveling south on State Road 337 when the 2004 International trash truck he was driving left the east side of the roadway, traveled 462 feet before crashing into a barn at 2727 North State Road 3376.
Troopers believe excessive speed on wet roads contributed to the crash.
The road was closed for nearly two hours.
Assisting ISP were the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the Orleans Police Department, Orange County Rural Fire Department District II, the Livonia Volunteer Fire Department and Orange County Emergency Medical Services.
