(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after a domestic fight Wednesday night.
According to a Mitchell Police report, 35-year-old Ronald Patton Jr., of 912 West Main St., is facing a count of domestic battery.
Police and medical personnel were called to a home in the 900 block of West Main Street at 7:22 p.m. after a report that a man has suffered a severe cut on his hand and it would not stop bleeding. An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department first responders and police went to the home
There they found Patton with a cut on his hand and a woman who Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman says had a cut eye, a bruised ear and other bruises all over her arms.
She told police that she and Patton were jumped by other people in an alley.
Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Then at 11:38 p.m. police received a call reporting a domestic fight between the couple.
When officers arrived at the home the woman told police she had lied earlier and that Patton was the one who caused her injuries and he had injured his hand when he punched a mirror.
Patton was then arrested and taken to jail.
A 12-year-old girl, who witnessed the fighting and was not related to the victim, was placed in the custody of her grandmother by the Department of Child Services.
