(BEDFORD) - Three Bedford North Lawrence softball players received recognition for their talents during the 2015 softball season.
BNL junior third baseman Marissa Watson was named third-team All-State and All-District 5 by the ICGSA and first team All-Hoosier Hills Conference, while senior pitcher Rebecca Schoenung earned first team All-HHC distinction, and freshman catcher Hailey Miller was selected All-HHC Honorable Mention.
Watson lead the Stars in several offensive categories, including39 hits, 28 RBIs, 32 runs, 4 homeruns, 11 doubles, 3 triples and 11 stolen bases. Those numbers would have been greater but she suffered a shoulder injury early in the season.
Pitcher Schoenung went 13-6 with a 2.16 ERA, 115 strikeouts and only 33 walks in 126.1 innings pitched. She was also a force at the plate, batting .407 with two home runs, six doubles and 14 RBIs.
Rookie Miller enjoyed She hit .365 with two home runs, five doubles and 18 RBIs.
