(JACKSON CO.) - Two were arrested for a burglary that occurred in April in Jackson County.
Police arrested 45-year-old James Beavers of Vallonia and 31-year-old Shannon Barton of Columbus on felony charges of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of stolen property related to the burglary.
The pair were arrested as officers were following up on a call about trespassing and found a car believed to have been involved in an incident at a residence on South Main Street.
Both Beavers and Barton were in the vehicle when it was stopped.
Police found meth and drug paraphernalia and items related to a theft and break-in of a home in the western part of Jackson County.
Police believe Beavers is also responsible for the theft of a firearm in Bartholomew County.
