(WASHINGTON) - The City of Washington is set to receive a state grant between the amounts of $25,000 and $50,000 to construct a Bicentennial Park in its downtown area.
According to a release from the state, "The project will create an open air plaza and a brick event storage facility."
The money comes from the state's "Place Based Investment Fund," a matching program in conjunction with the Indiana Office of Tourism Development and Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The Washington project calls for a covered walkway, lighting and landscaping. It will also add furniture.
Creation of the project, according to the State, will allow Washington to host additional events in its downtown area.
